55 Vette Nomad

It looks like a play on the factory Motorama showcar from 1954:

I like the 55 Nomad and the 55 Vette - but not together in one car.

Being a stonger body wagon

it would make a good Derby car

I like the Motorama car better. The Belair side trim and colour separation do not work. You can buy 53/54 Corvette bodies new in Fiberglas now, just look at some of the Pan America race cars, alot of them use Plastic for weight reasons. I owned a 55 Nomad, loved the car, it went to Germany.

Yes, Stayner, couldn't remember that towns name. It's been repainted close to the same colour I had it but has 'ghost' flames now. It still has the same interior I put in it & holding up well as I sold this car in 1975/77. I left a note in the car at Stouffville car show with my Ph# + short note. A lady called me a couple of weeks later from Stayner & we got caught up on cars history!!!

That car was from Calif. when i got it in Oshawa, was Black & white, missing the org. grille & had a tube grille. Had a 350 with a t350 trans & 4;11 rr. gear.Changed the rear gear the 1st. yr. I had it. Engine would "almost flip over" when you stood on it, as it was mtg. at the frt. & on the trans with a Micky Mouse cross member. It had a few diff engines & transmissions when I owned it. & the side engine mts. were one of the tell tale signs it was the same car. I changed the colour & had it done in "EMMRON" paint back then, tough paint, pot scrubber wouldn't hurt it!!!
