A cheap way to get into the hobby?

A little rough, but a quick paint, some TLC and you'd be good to go.

I wonder if that's Soft Ray glass, looks blue.... biggrin

Sure doesn't look rotten...

Except for colour that is an identical twin to one I bought at a salvage auction about 1976. I stripped a lot of the factory A/C stuff out of it for my 66 GP.

It looks a nice as mine was under the hood. The tubs have no surface rust, so the frame and floors might be good as well.

Would make a good grocery getter!

I just sent him a email. We'll see.

1967 Pontiac Parisienne 4dr hardtop. V8, 283(so I am told). Runs great. New custom built rad ($700), plugs, wires & tune up in 2010. New battery (2011). Comes with premium all season car cover. Body is in great shape. No rust. Just a few orange spots starting. Never seen salt. Needs a windshield and some TLC. Interior is near mint. Car came back with me from Alberta in 2010. Don't have time to enjoy it anymore and need the parking space. $2000/obo. Will consider trades.

I wonder if that's Soft Ray glass, looks blue.... biggrin

Looks like soft ray glass to me. If you wanted to buy it and do the work yoou could swap the soft ray glass into your car, put the clear galss in this one, and re-sell it. I'm in the process of swapping soft ray glass into my 69 Kingswood wagon. The car came from California, and has AC, but it did not get the tinted glass. I'm fixing that now. I've done it before on another car and it's not too difficult but it is time consuming.

Just as a little side note, try convincing people that tinted glass is optional on a/c cars. You'll get a lot of arguments but I've seen enough clear glass a/c cars to know it's true.

The fellow replied to my email that he thinks it's just clear glass.

I might see if I can take a peek this weekend coming.

Agree. I have owned 3 cars with factory installed in dash AC that had clear glass: one was from Georgia, one was from California, and the third was a Canadian built car.  On the other hand most of the AC cars I have owned had full tinted glass, and I've had a number of non-AC cars that also had full tinted glass.

Yes it's hard to say. It looks greenish in the pictures but I don't see the blue band across the top of the windshield. You can't always tell from the pics and sometimes the sellers don't really know what tinted glass looks like or how to identify it.

Prior to 1967 many Canadian GM cars did not have the glass labelled Soft Ray. The glass I think may have been labelled LOF and was a darker shade of green as in the 66 Bel Air and 62 Parisienne I owned. Of course even in the Soft Ray glass there were varying shades of blueish green tint which may have varied from plant to plant depending on who was the glass supplier. Example: the green soft ray tint in my 68 Caprice is a lighter shade of green than what was in my old 68 Impala Custom; the glass in the Impala was darker and had a blueish tint to it.

Different interior colours really play with your eyes when you are trying to figure out if a car has tint or not.

That's true, especially if the car has a turquoise or green interior. But as I look at this picture I'm focused on the light colors behind the side and rear glass and they do look to have a green tint.
