Incredibly well preserved 74 Grand Prix Model J - 400 cube

Not everyone is a fan of the 3rd Gen A-bodies, but this car  with the single headlights and true duals is an exceptionally nice example. The last year before the catalytic converters were used. Original paint, which says a lot. Even the exhaust tips look 100% original. They are a difficult car to restore. Once you get bubbles under the vinyl roof you are "done", but this car has none of those problems. It came out of dealer stock and went into the dealer's collection, then into the collection of another enthusiast. It is now on it's third owner. It is very impressive and original, and is unrestored.

The Model J came with 400 4-barrel, dual exhaust power as standard; the SJ came with a 455 (optional on the J)

Currently bid to $6000 but ther reserve is not met.

Ray, I'll bet you could appreciate this car.

They are nice driving cars for sure. My cousin did a resto on one(74) similar colors, etc. It was a big dollar resto and I'm sure he lost  tons o cash on it a few years later. This one is remarkable.

 I really loved the '71 & 72 models

Well ya'all forced me to fire up the old flatbed scanner (make a coffee while it's warming up biggrin ) and copy a couple of old pictures from my album. This is a 73 Grand Prix SJ taken in around 1990 or 91. It had 23000 original miles traded in on a new Pontiac at McNaught Pontiac Buick and sold to North Star Motors (a small used car dealer) in a package of wholesale cars. It had the 455 and every factory option available including pwr bucket seat and was stunning inside and out. If memory seves me correctly the dealer was asking around $3000 for it and it was showroom fresh original. Wish I had taken more detailed pictures. I was able to drive it but didn't buy it. It sold quickly. Wonder if it's still around and was preserved?

The 1973-77 Grand Prix is a G-body - essentially it's a stretched A-body. 116" wheelbase on a GP vs. 112 for a two door A-body (LeMans, GA, etc).

I'd like a triple black 1977 LJ with leather and T-tops please...
