I should have started here , I am a proud owner of 1965 Pontiac Strato Chief 2 dr post.In 1986 I bought (traded 4 Lambs) for my strato chief oh and its pretty much rust free I love cracking a bolt then taking it out with my fingures wondering how easy mechanics have it in the south not fighting every bolt on a vehicle.
I traded a farm hand while working on a ranch in Navajo Arizona. It does NOT have air cond although it has green glass 283 2bbl powerglide w power steering and crank windows manual suicide brakes. Suicide because thats how it was when it went out and I hit a small pole then a toyota truck hit me in the back.Suprisingly not much damage. That was December 1987 So I rubbed down the Cameo White paint with turtle wax put plastic and card board under it piled blankets and tarps over it and it sat there for 25 years pulled it out last year now that I have a property were I can work on it properly. It did get a little dinged and damaged in the storage I prusume kids broke in a few times took my T3 headlights and the dual quad set up off my motor.
In the mean time Ive stripped 5 full size American donor pontiacs just to find the best parts off of them for the strato. Most anything here in the salt belt is a donor if its 20 yrs or older. Now Im finding the bumpers are different and the interior seems very snug in width.Im just fitting parts now before re-doing .Im going to pull it apart and put it back to like new condition although since I will never sell it Im putting in GP interior with counsel small block 400 and 700 r4 and 71 rallye 15" rims 69 Impala front discs and anything else I feel i would like in the car.Since I have just about every option made from other donar cars.
Some may say Im basterdizing the cheif although Im keeping all original parts in case I get bored and put it back to the butter smooth cruzer it was when I was a young man.I will miss the whine from the glide.Maybe Ill put a quiet gear set in to compensate. Ill post pics when time permits and I can figure out how to do it. Ive been reading this site for a year or sonever posted. Ive never seen in person another strato Im wondering how many 2 dr V8 cars where made.
Welcome from Canada's east coast Pete! Enjoy the site.
Your car is all '65 Chevy underneath and around the sheet metal (frame, mechanicals, drive train, glass), The sheet metal, trim, emblems, lights, bumpers, and half the interior is '65 Canadian Pontiac only.

I know the bumpers and body panels differ, but the interior parts should fit ok as I think they're all the same, apart from the dash top pad,... but maybe not. I know that a column from a US GP will fit a Canadian model, as well as doors, panels etc, but not certain about the dash itself.
Do you happen to have a Bonny tail panel or extra pwr vents from all your parts??
