I have a 51 Pontiac Eight?

Hello,  I am new to this site and hope to get some help.  I picked up a '51 Pontiac Eight (at least that is what it says on the emblems on the side of the front doors) on which we hope to do a full restoration .  I was wondering what I really have.  Do I have a Chieftain?  It doesn't say Chieftan or anything else anywhere on the car.  I've included some photos.  Thanks, Bill

You've got a yankee Poncho!!! Straight 8 & see it has the "optional" lighted hood ornament!! Car has longer w/base than Canadian, frt. fenders are longer too!!! Automatic or Standard trans. ???? Looks to be good 'body wise" Runner??? Pete

First of all welcome to another fellow Albertan.Looks like a solid starter car for sure,where did you find it?Every once in awhile an American version seems to pop up out west.What are the plans for it if any?Feel free to ask lots of questions,lots of knowledgable folks on here.

Hi

The vin plate you show in the picture tell me that

model 25-69D = chieftain 6 cyl engine deluxe

The chieftain as serie 25 for 6 cyl and 27 for 8 cyl

The canadian model are 20 or 22 and the weelbase is not the same

your chieftain is 120 inch wheelbase and the canadian is 115

canadian model are made of chevrolet body
