Hello I bought a 53 2 dr hardtop last summer and plan on working on it this summer. I got a package deal and picked up 2 54 4drs with it and later a 53 4 dr for parts. They all have siezed 6 cyls flatheads, 2 autos and 2 standards.I was told if I post the vins on here someone could tell me what models they are and register them to keep track of them. They are all made in Canada with the following vins

1    53-2-dr vin 3203721347 model 20-37D

2    54-4-dr vin 4206907109 model 20-69WD

3    54-4-dr vin 4226918430 model 22-69

4    54-4-dr vin 3206920530 model 20-69W

Someone told me the second one was a Laurention and I believe the first one is too ? 3rd? 4th?

I have heard nothing but good things about this post.

i have the canadian parts book 46-57 and it lists the

1 53-2-dr vin 3203721347 model 20-37D as an Laurentian

for 54 it doesn't list the trim level names or i'm just miss reading. because all three state "Sedan - 4 door notch back 4 window"

from what I can see in the pics and the vins the first is definetly a 54 4 door laurentian 4206907109 2069wd is a laurentian 4 door code.
The second is also a 54 4 door but maybe a pathfinder or pathfinder deluxe from the trim on the side.
The third is a 53 4 door model and the fourth judging from the top of the taillight is also a 53 but a 2 door.
On your plates there should also be a body number,color code,engine code,etc.I'm a little confused on the last 4 digits 7109 should mean its the 7109 car off the line with 4641 4 door laurentians built in 54.Probably means yours was produced late in 54.Mine is 00013 so the 13th car off the line,built in nov of 1953.I'm sure there are others here who can give you a lot more info still.

#1 1953 20-37D Laurentian 2dr hdtp 6 pass, serial nos started at 32037D00001

#2 1954 20-69WD Laurentian 4 dr sedan 6 pass, serial nos started at 42069WD00001

#3 1954 22-69 Pathfinder 4dr sedan 6 pass, serial numbers started at 4226900001

#4 1954 20-69W Pathfinder Deluxe 4dr sedan 6 pass, serial numbers started at 42069W00001

all built in Oshawa

How are the doors on the hardtop? I'm presuming that's the car to be restored.
Reason I ask is because I have 2 pretty decent doors off a 53 Chev hdtp that will interchange.

You are right I made a mistake on 3206920530 model 20-69W it is a 53 (deluxe)(3rd pic). I should have taken pics of the id plates too.The 4th pic is a 53 2 dr laurention thats what I thought. The 1st and 2nd pics are the 54 4 drs. I was told the 1st pic is a 54 4 dr laurention
The order of the pics got mixed up from the order I took them the order of the big pics are 2.3.4.1 in relation to the list of vin numbers.

Like I said the first in definetly a 54 laurentian,the clincher being I can see the round medallions on the rear fenders and those are exclusive to the laurentians from the articles I have.

Thanks for your help hwscowboy and norontcan it is greatly appreciated. Now I know what I got. Next weekend I have a set of doors and some trim bieng dropped off for the 53 2 dr ht by someone from Winnipeg travelling to Edmonton so I have some parts lined up but thanks for the offer of the doors norontcan Im sure someone is probably looking for those doors.I do need a windshield for it though and seats.

Willard Its a bit dark in the barn for pics but the interior needs alot of work.The floor on the drivers side front needs replaceing. I also need seats for it and some better interior panels. It needs a radio all the electronics gone throughI need a windshield for it too.

in 1950 the 2069 was a fleetleader deluxe series, 4 door deluxe sedan,
dont know if the name types were carried on as far as 54

model 22xx were fleetleader special series 115 wheelbase 6 cyl 90 hp
model 20xx were fleetleader deluxe series " " " " " "
model 2527 , 2569, 2569D were chieftain series 120 wheelbase 6 cyl 90 hp
model 2769D chieftain deluxe 4 door sedan 8 cylinder 108 hp
model 25xx series were steamliner series available as 6 or 8 cyl 120 wheelbase
