muncie 4 speed transmissions

i have a few muncie 4 speed transmissions for sale .these are professionally rebuilt and i will warranty them.i have the makings for 2 rare pontiac long tailshaft muncies for you pontiac guys also.these were used in the 64 and up grand prix, catalina, bonneville and other full size cars.i can build you one with the 64 and 65 #s case or one with the 66 or 67 case.i can build you more less any combination or year of muncie you want for just a muscle car or a #s correct tranny for your car.i can build you a m21 close ratio,m20 wide ratio or a m22 close ratio or a m22 aftermarket gear wide ratio.all transmissions are completely dissasembled and cleaned and then inspected.all are then reasembled with any bad parts replaced and then they all get all new front and rear bearings, new syncro blocking rings, all new small parts and thrust washers and clips, new seals and gaskets.these are done right and i will back them up 100% except for abuse.prices start at $800.i also have a couple borg warner super t10 trans.as well.you can call vic at 250 443 1964 or ask questions through this post.

Hi Vic, Sure wish I would have known this before spending $1800 (taxes in) to have mine completely rebuilt over the winter in Vernon. I heard you are located in Grand Forks?

i am located in grand forks.i started building muncies a few years ago for a hobby.it is definatly not a get rich project for me and i am very reasonable with my prices.it is hard to find transmissions and parts and pieces.i have shipped transmissions to the east and west coast and north and into the usa as well.i enjoy it and want to help out guys looking for these chevy transmissions.if anyone has any transmissions needing rebuilding or any parts or pieces,i am interested in buying also.i live on the USA border and buy all my parts in the usa and that helps keep the cost down also.anyone needing any info on a tranny they have,i will also try to help.any one looking for a tranny and not knowing wich they need,i can help there to.a general rule of thumb is that if you have  rear end gears of 3.73 or numerically higher, you should be using a m21 close ratio.if you have 3.55 and numerically lower,a m20 wide ratio does the trick with a lower first gear.also the early m20 has a lower first gear than the later...i9f you want a stronger transmission and like the whine of straighter cut gears, the close ratio m22 is for you.thanks guys and have a great day.Vic

not much for pictures of that one.i had that 42 years ago when i was just 17 years old.i ran the bag off of it but it was a screamer.what a sleeper.blew the doors off of a lot of other cars with it.it would get 3 gears of rubber no sweat.not bad for a heavy car.wish i still had it.i would be much easier on it now.back then it was alchohol and racing and girls.a lot at the same time to...those were the days.

I have a buick GSX clone Ive rebuilt the engine a little over 500 horse and over 500ftlbs. The car is unweighed but Im guessing about 3600 lbs. Im looking for an M22 muncie thinking this should handle the power. (no racing just street with the occassional blast) but Im thinking of 355 rear gears to make the freeway more liveable Do you build your M22s with a low first gear like the M20. I know Ive got lots of torque but It would make it just that much more fun. I live in Surrey B.C.
