Picked up a 67 Acadian Canso about a month back and now decoding the block. Fenders display 327 badges told it was a 327 but never trust a fender badge also was mentioned bored .30 over & W/2.02 heads. Just trying to verify the actual block without further inspection. Another former owner I just tracked down said was a 350 when he had it? So got me curious, find the engine suffix with little info on TDB
This is off the block plate frt/pass side.

K = St Catharines
07 = July
11 = 11th Day
TDB = Nasty Z site: (1980? C10-1500) & (1972-307 ci?)
181549931
1= Chevrolet
8 = 1968 or ? (Thinking 68 as the code is stamped right under the Engine ID)
1 = Oshawa #2 Plant
549931 = Vin/Car Code# Anyway of running last 6 on Vin to see type original car/truck was in?
Maybe I'll get better look around the block for other tags, unless I have something messed up here.
Thanks Dave

TDB is certainly a truck block as far as any I've ever seen. I have not seen a "T" that came from a car yet.
Check on the block behind the driver's side head for the block casting which will help a lot and on the block behind the passenger side head is the date code.

Thanks ya thinking the same, the more I search online truck seams to code over to the TDB suffix. I,ve bounced from thinking its a 307, 327 now to 350 I'll go look for some more id's on the block. if its the 80's truck block I think there should be a 010 on the block it self?

A quick look I found this other casting, but I'll jack her up on the weekend and get at the # off the rear at belhousing flange, think this is what I need to solve the mystery block.

My MSA-1 suffix code book shows TDA 1972 Truck 307 and TDA 1980 Truck 350
The casting clock you show 8 G 7 would be 8th July 1977
I notice that in the 70's on St Catharines blocks any way that the first number is the year. I have a 350 block that has a date code of 4 B 28 . As you can see that the last number is the day and not the year. Given that you can look at his as 78 or 80. July 7th. This would match more to the date code in the partial vin that starts with 18. Given all that it would have to be a 350 as the no 307 engines after 73.
Ok got the number of the back of the block and searched around and under for more id's nothing else stood out.
Rear of the Block #397001and no0at the end? Just001is the last 3 So running with the Suffix codeTDB last 3 on the block and 001its still a bit of a mystery
Beginning to believe this may be a 350 block because of theTDBsuffix code? Buddy MudMan stands by the 327 either way both great engines for the car I could pull the pan if its a 4 bolt, 350 she is but a 2 bolt have to start measuring stuff and still very well could be a 327.
Did a quick search turned up some info the 397001 Block, some say 350 but only using the suffix to confirm it.
A pic of another I found on line, guy had the same question what is this? number is not 39700101 but 01

The serial # 81549931 shows up in the microfiche as a 1978 GMC 4wd LWB LS9 (350) engine with an M20 4sp Muncie Trans, can't find the TDB yet.
