There are others out there that are worse.

I placed an order with Harmons by internet almost 2 weeks ago ... still no email confirmation. No communication at all! The only proof of a order is on my account that I created ... to see the order I have log into on their website.confuse

I phoned them 3 days after I placed the order because I thought it was odd (usually when I place an order with any car parts place, I get an email confirmation within minutes), the guy on the phone said that 2 of my 3 parts were on backorder, and would be in in 2 weeks , that's the last I've heard (over 10 days ago).confuse 

Weird way of doing business. Lucky I'm not in a hurry! I haven't any charges by Harmons to my credit card. I'll give them a month biggrin, and if nothing happens I'll cancel my order.

hello   all  i placed an   order   with  these guys  a couple  of days  ago  i needed  different  things  like  rear  seat  brakets  , gas line , seat belt bolts  , master cyl  and   other   misc  parts.

I placed  my  order online   and  they  e mailed me  in  the next  hour , with the total  amount  for the  upcomming  invoice  , and  they  would get back   to me  with  the   shipping  charges when  the order would  be processed.

 

This has been  a couple of days  , and  i havent heard from  them  , is this  normal  ?????

Anyone I ever order from takes my order gives me a total,and I pay for it.Within minutes I get a confirmation by e mail.Next day get e mail telling me it's shipped with my tracking number.Slick.

          Go back to yuor order and cancel!!    there is no place that is reputable that does not do shipping right now

i dont know them all but know Ground up is big ( maybee to big ) and carry most of the stuff i need


i prefer ordering at one or two places , shipping wise

My only comments...
-if the parts are mailed vs couriered it seems that duty is avoided? (Yet it's tough to get these guys to mail them.)
-I try to coordinate my parts requirements with upcoming US trips (that usually happed once every 2 years) so that I can stuff my suitcase. One trip I picked up an $8.00 duffle bag to bring back my convertible top as carry on. Another, I stuffed my garment bag with seat skins. Last visit was a road trip so I picked up the a couple of larger items such as kick panels with speakers.

In some cases the savings on shipping and duty pays for a good chunk of the flight. When I don't have trips in the forseeable future, I'll buy from our sponsors (floor carpet from NOS).

Ordered new brake parts for the GPX on Wednesday from Prime Choice in Ottawa. They arrive Friday afternoon. Always good service but only for late models.

when you need odd parts...like a bushing mount on the frame , you got to go with the bigger guys , wich are possibly more independent.

Ground Up is notorious for bad service and shipping half of your order because of back orderd parts. I like dealing with Hinshaw's Chevelle Parts. You can call and talk to the owner, James Hinshaw. He will let you know if he has the parts in stock and give you the full price including shipping.

Year One is pretty good to deal with but their prices are about 15-20% higher than most other places. They are only about 100 miles south of me.
