should be similar to this on mine there is a small u shaped piece for the rod that clamps the spare down

and the original bumper jack would slide under the left hand side of the tire

I've been surfing trying to figure out where the spare and jack tools were meant to go in a 67 Parisienne 2+2 convertible. Have found info on the Impala, GTO and Laurentian hardtops but if anyone has some pics it would really help.

Thanks,

Put them in the trunk...  under the tire  or beside it   or in a box   or a blanket

I know you were teasing.

The manual shows how to remove skirts and where to position the jack. It says that the jack components are stored in the luggage compartment area of the spare tire. Really???

The 2nd picture resembles more my trunk although the Parisienne's area directly over the differential is different, but the location of the spare is where I believe it should be on mine. However, the floor is flat; no holes or evidence for some clips or nuts or something to hold it together. The first photo shows a butterfly nut; I'm missing that and trying to figure out where it should go.

Is the small u shaped piece coming from the trunk's floor? That's what Im looking for. My trunk floor has no holes or anything sticking out.

yes in the center of the spare. then a rod goes up to the rim and through the jack base and tightened down with the large wing nut.
I will see it there is a picture in my parts book on monday.

Darn! That's what I feared. It's missing the rod and no hole on the floor to put something to it. When they re-did the floor they must have covered it all.

Thank you,

Leo

Leo, They sell the "bolt and wingnut" repro.

This is the piece you would need welded onto your trunk floor in the proper spot. It's cut out of a parts car:

In a '64 Parisienne, the tire gets mounted up on the "shelf" in the trunk, with the jack held down underneath it (you can see the hook-shaped "bolt" at the top on the picture):

perfect pic of what it looks like.you can see it in my picture as well

depending on how perfect you want it you could mount a two hole strap in the correct place because you will not see
it under the tire. you could also weld a short piece of pipe there too.
should be on right side in converts

Perfect! Thanks Lefty. I know who's got a parts car and I have a friend that's a welder.

Cheers.
