12 volt radio in a 6volt car

Hi

My friend bought a 54 pontiac and he wants some tunes with a modern radio. is the a converter to run the 12 volt radio. a up-verter I guess.

Here's some info about 6 volt to 12 volt inverting that might help you

and the Archer inverter (really popular back when) used to be for sale years ago at Radio Shack but haven't been since the 70's.

you can also use a resistor to drop the voltage

I put a small motor cycle battery in the trunk and the radio played all summer and then I recharged it for the next year.

So how about rebuilding the generator.  There is a shop in Barrie.  But does anyone here build them. Or does anyone have a good used one for sale
