Nice 1937 Westinghouse "Tombstone" radio. Beautiful cabinet. Radio was serviced about 20 years ago. Works on AM but not on Short Wave. I suspect the contacts for the band selection need cleaning. I don't have time to dig into it. Have some extra tubes to go with it. A great conversation piece and would look great in the living room of your Victorian house. $350 or BO. I've owned it for 25 years.
i have a 1948 westinghouse my grand father gave me when i was a kid it works fine but the lens is cracked on the front, the lens is a clear plastic bubble on mine.
I have about 20 or 25 old radios and record players made from the 1930s to the 60s. I have a couple floor model ones similar to this one. My first one was one that my grandparents bought around the time my Mom was born. My grandmother gave it to me in the early 80s. James
I used to have a large collection of radios however this is my last one. I also have a 1910 Columbia "Grafonola" that I restored about 22 years ago. The sound quality and volume is amazing for being over 100 years old!
The record storage area was completely smashed when I got the gramophone. It was a long process to rebuild it!
