i was just at my work taking the flat tires off my rally rims the tire i took off are 195 70 r15 would the 225 be too wide for the rims?

My BFGoodrich book says 6" - 7 1/2" so you should be fine.

I've never tried that size on an older B body but it's not bad on a 90's Roadmaster, although maybe a little bit on the skinny looking side. Height is nice though.

That's the same tire I'm running on all 4 corners. I'm super happy with the look, handling, and they fit well under the fenders without any rubbing.

another question should i go with a passanger car tire or a light truck tire because of the weight of my car at my work i priced out a set of cooper discoverer's at 81.99 each or motomaster a/w at 51.99 each plus my discount another 15% off which route would you guys go?

Passenger tire is fine for your car.

Sorry, but I've not heard much good about Motomaster tires from anyone I know who bought them.

CT AW is an entry level tire, if CT has trouble with tires, this is where it'll be. Having said that, CT tires are made by the big boys, which is why, the tread designs may look familiar.
I've still got a pair on my 66, since the early 90s. And no, they don't hold air for more than a few days. : ) and I would not drive on them. Sad thing is, they probably have less than 100 miles on them, but way too many years. lol
At P225/75R15, (love the size choice), you have way more tire than you need, no chance of premature wear because of weight.
Radial TA's will be my choice (when it's finally time), for new tires for my Pontiacs, love the look.

Had the 66 since about 83 and the 65 since 88.
Both still require a lot of work.

I have custom-made-to-order 245/60/15s redline tires on 15 x 7s with no problem.. You should be ok with that setup.
