RE: July 2013 Feature Car

Congrats on being the 7/13 feature,

A prime example of the reason why so many of the 1966 model were sold, and not to mention the 66 cult following that exists here!

The car just looks so "Right", and that painted roof is far nicer than vinyl imop.

Congratulations Bob and Carol on your beautiful 66 . GM of Canada sure had a winner . That 283 195 HP engine was a really good everyday performer with decent fuel economy.

Bob and Carol, that is an absolutely amazing car. It's perfect. Wanna hear a story? When I was 16 living in King City ON, my aunt and uncle from Fort Erie went on a holiday somewhere (can't remember where now...) so they drove their virtually new white '66 Parisienne coupe (with a wine cloth interior & 283 power) over to our place and my dad took them to YYZ. That car sat in our garage for about 3-4 weeks and I used to go and sit in it, sometimes starting it up and listening to CHUM and my favourite DJ, Bob McAdorey. That car smelled wonderful and before my aunt and uncle arrived back in TO I was allowed to back it out of the garage and wash and wax it for them. My uncle, who was a dentist in Ft. Erie, always drove either Pontiacs or Buicks...gorgeous specimen and you'd have been nuts not to buy it. I'll bet it's the nicest original example of that model in North America..

Well as the month of July winds down Carol & I would like to thank all the CdnPoncho Club members who gave such wonderful comments about our 66 CS.  If I can ever be of help to anyone who is restoring a similar car please let me know and would be glad to provide any pictures or info required.  Bob

Boy as a senior my memory sometimes does not work well!  In my last post I forgot to thank Todd who spent precious time right during his move to set this up as the July feature car.  Todd mega thanks from Bob & Carol for what you are doing for the club!
