I have used them and will buy from them again. For my 69 Biscayne they had the correct cloth and vinyl. Not cheap , but they were exact . Delivery time was reasonable .
I also used them to re-create my door panels , and they did a fantastic job.... they were perfect . The only issue with the door panels was that it took forever ( approx 10 months) . If your not in a hurry , then I would reccommend them .

I just received a sample of vinyl from SMS Fabrics for my Strato Bench project. I now have a sample of all 3 materials I'll need to make covers (less a section of carpet for the lower back). They are all an exact match.
I'd like to order some soon.
Question;
Has anyone here ever dealt with SMS? Brousing the net, I see a lot of negative comments (although mostly centered on custom doorpanels or work). BBB rates them a D-.
I should have some input for you soon. The door & rear panel set for my '68 Chevy II were ordered in November and according to SMS they'll be done in a couple of weeks. I sent them originals to work from & they said they'd be exact. I'd heard they do excellent work and the price was very reasonable.
All I really read is they are a little on the slow side but the wait is usually worth it. I wish I could remember who did the upholstery for my 59 Dodge. They were in Michigan and also had an extensive collection of NOS materials. The job they did was outstanding. I'll do some digging to see if I can find their name.
Couple friends of mine have had door panels done, same story as above, excellent job but please don't be in a hurry for them. One of them had door panels done for a 66 Beaumont and they are beautiful.
SMS did the interior and the door panels for the 66 L79 Acadian. My experience was similar. Incredible quality, could not of expected a better job. Perfection to be honest..............Good thing I wasn't in a hurry. Took almost 18 months. Bill
By reading the comments, most of the long delays seem to revolve around door panels. How are their timelines re the seat upholstery that Mark is talking about?

i got samples in about a week, when i ordered fabric of the samples it took like a little less then 2 weeks to be delivered
SMS was really on the mark for dark green comfort weave and vinyl for my 70 GTO when I built it in the 90's. $600 for 3 yards comfort weave and 3 yards vinyl.
They sent me a sample a few years back when I was toying with the idea to start the Firebird resto and the parchment comfort weave was a dead match. Bird is still waiting.

Not to change the subject, but the car in your avatar sure looks good. Hope you're enjoying it.
SMS's delivery of the fabric may be quick, but what about pre-sewn seat covers? Do they have the long timelines of the door panels?
