Yup! thank goodness I have a big yard and a pretty cool wife.

The fellow who sold it had a bunch of offers from guys who wanted to stuff the engine in a Chevelle SS clone but he really wanted to see it go to someone who valued it for what it is so he took me up on my offer. Good kind of guy in my book.

Just on a Canon Powershot A460 that bangs around in the garage and goes with me in the bird dog on the waterbombing runs.

Hey guys I fell again and added one more old Pontiac

Prett good runner yet although kind of tired.  It must have been a pretty good surpise to a lot of guys over the years with 396 turbo 400 and (according to the firewall tag 12 bolt posi. (G80 option) Otherwise a meek and ordinary 66 Parisienne hardtop with the usual equipment.

My brother has had the 409 car since about 1976 or so.  It sat with no engine as he had stuck in in a 55 GMC for quite a while.  I was telling him to toss that ugly old brute for years but once we found out how few were made I shut up and he decided to get it running again.  He found all the bits and pieces he had scattered around and reunited engine and car.  So far its unrestored but maybe someday...

The yellow one is my never ending 66 Grande project and I found the Parisienne on kijiji the other night and impulsivley stuck in an offer.  Its been on here before.  I wanted to get it before soembody else yarded the engine out.  Kind of a defensive move.  So far the wife does not know as she is out of town (Gulp)

The production quality of the video is actually pretty good - I've seen much worse on TV shows.

Ken, was that one on Kijiji the past couple of weeks? If so, I contacted him but he wanted $1000-1500 too much for it.. For me anyways, distance and all... Now, if it were a '67, maybe!

One sure way to tell if it was a big block is if you see "Carl S was here" scratched on the firewall.

But seriously folks,  Carl S says that one way is to look at the fuel line.  3/8 's means big block (some say it may be a 327 as well. ) I'll have to look at my parts cars (283, 327 and 396 powered etc and take a poll to confirm that.

Agree as the 67 Grande 327 with AC is a Turbo 400 car as well.

I guess looking for a 12 bolt and two upper rear control arms doesn't even bear mentioning but all those things together could kind of help figure it out.

The one in the video is an Alberta car.  Black, Black and black with Power steering built in March 65.

The one Vince is referring to is ASaskatchewan car that has a red interior (if i remember right) and has no PS.It was built in April so has the currnet claim to being the last 409 car built. (I think)

Both are 4 speed cars.

Don't know about the well worth it part but I'm glad to have it.  I'll post some stock 396 reference pictures quite soon.  Only mods were to bypass the fuel pump and the installation of an HEI to get it running but all parts are there.

Do you have a pic of the data plate from the 65 CS in the above pic? Wondering as to colour and manufacture date.

Not sure about 66's but you can tell sometimes by the rad spacer, short is bb or small block with AC. Long or deeper is small block only.

Yes, 327's also had the big (3/8") line. You can only confirm a 6 cyl or 283 car (5/16") line but only the documents will prove a big block.

However, there is always that line sheet that's often up under the dash or in one of the seat cushions.

LOL, no worries, I saw it Ken! I should get a white chalk and write "Carl 1" on the inside of the front fender where those cars say "Air Cond" !!!
