I can turn the key normally but the lid won't open. I tried putting Jig-a-Loo in the keyhole, pushed down on the lid as I turned the key but nothing happens. Any ideas? 67 Parisienne. Thanks,

Sounds like the shaft that goes from the cylinder to the trunk lock fell off or broke, the only way I know how is to go in thru the back seat and turn the slot on the trunk lock, you should be able to reach it with some kind of extensions, or if the lock is defective then you have to remove the bolts holding the trunk lock again through the back seat.
Yup. get a nimble kid, save yourself a lot of cursing. Just make sure their parent knows what you are actually up to otherwise the explaining could involve a lot of bright lights!
I pull the seat backrest and combine enough extensions taped together along with a 1/2 inch socket to undo the bolts for the catch. A longer ratchet will give good leverage, or use impact wrench.
Make sure it's a cooler time of day and the car is in the shade before you crawl into the trunk. Bring your cellphone with you or have someone close by.

A photo of what to look for would indeed be helpful ... so I can explain to my son what to do. He's 11 and much smaller than me to get in ... and likes working with tools so that might be the way to go!
Was easy to crawl in from the back after removing the convertible top well. I found the long steel rod that connects to the lock had fallen. I popped open the lid, now will repair the lock and that's it.
I just read this post this morning, and was going to comment re being a convertible. Going through the back seat isn't an option on a convertible but removing the well and going through there is. My buddy Rick (67rag396) had to get his daughter to go through the well to open the trunk on his when he first got his car in 1999.
