My guess is any GM vehicle built in 1955,56 and 57. regardless of model, but not including the Corvette.

Not all 55 56 57 Gm cars only the sedans and wagons will fit. Auto City Classic has new ones. 1-800-828-2212 or google them. They also have gas tanks.

Does that mean a windshield from a 4 dr sedan won't work on a 2 dr hardtop? Would a windshield from a 4 dr hardtop work for a 2 dr hardtop? What about the back glass?

If I remember correctly from when I had my Nomad, 2 & 4 dr. sedans take same W/s. 2 dr. htp. & Nomad were the same. Not sure on 4 dr. htp & rag top!!!!

More differences than I would have thought.....same for the other GM cars of that era??

This from a Tri-Five Chevy site

Go by this when buying a windshield-

55,56 2 door hardtop,4 door hardtop,Nomad and convertible use the same windshield.


55,56 2 door sedan,4 door sedan,and wagons use the same windshield.(one you need)


57 2 door hardtop,4 door hardtop,Nomad and convertible use the same windshield.


57 2 door sedan,4 door sedan,and wagons use the same windshield.


57's will not fit any 55 or 56, because of the cowl differences.


So,there were a total of 4 different windshields for tri-fives.

 My glass guy, Crystal Glass says a DW394 should be the animal... Costly though.... @ $400 or a tad more... Depending...

My interchange book shows 55-56 Chev 2 dr wagon is different from the 2 dr Bel Air wagon which I take to be a Nomad.
The 150 and 210 model 2 dr wagons interchange with 55-56 2dr and 4dr sedans and American Pontiacs 2dr and 4dr sedans, 4 dr station wagons, Chieftain 2drs.w. except Custom ( which could be the Safari )
It also shows a code of W394

As suggested above try Auto City Classics, atleast for a price comparison.

we use Auto City Classics. Good people to deal with. Just want to pass on this bit of info. A windshield is considered over size and must be shipped truck freight. Cost $110.00-125.00 US just to get it to Michigan from Minnesota
