Pontiac aluminum valve covers

I got these early corvette style valve covers from an old gent ,who said they were pontiac and originally had pontiac decals in the center. they have staggered hold down bolt holes. It is my understanding that when export engines went down the(corvette) assembly line they were tracked by the different valve covers that were installed on them.Canadian engines even had unique air cleaners. The old gent  was had a lot of rare parts.

Hello!!!  Well - with the offset bolt holes they look like 55-57 Chevy USA valve covers.  But, I thought those had "CORVETTE" in the center.  Also, the ribs look different for some reason.  I guess I am only familiar with USA parts to do you much good.  I am from the state of Kansas.  (And no, I have not seen Dorothy or her dog either - they both died long ago).  I have noticed a lot of posts mentioning Chevy engines in Canadian bodies so, I guess this was common.  I am going to have to attend some Canadian swap meets.  Having some of these unusual parts on a car around here would definitely cause a sensation.  I can see it now - getting into an argument with some old codger about whether something was ever made or not.  I could always say they are a "rare factory prototype" Hah!!  What fun!!!! Thanks,  BOPManiac

They look like early Corvette finned covers that have had the script ground off.  I do not mean to be a smart ass but i do think that is all they are.  Cheers. George.
