The 58 Parisienne was one of the eight 58's we had on display at Plunkett's June show!  It is a even better when you see it in person!!!!  Bob.

Those guys were going the opposite way to me Sat. morning just east of Port Perry as I headed out towards Stouffville in the Torpedo Back!! Guessed they were going to Auto Fest ???? Both guys waved back to me!! Maybe they were wondering if they were going in the wrong direction!!!!

Both beautiful cars.
Would the dealer emblem on the 57 be original?

It certainly has that original look patina and imperfect edges.

Thanks for the close up, Ray. It's certainly been on there a while.
My 64 Beaumont came from York Mills. There was no dealer emblem on the car when I got it. I have managed to pick up a less than perfect plastic dealer emblem and that's why I ask. If it was a sticker in 57 why would they go to plastic later when everyone else was going from cast to plastic to sticker?

I suspect the sticker was an add on by a later owner or by York Mills body shop,

as it does not look like original paint..........did you look close Ray, is it original paint?

I  love to see  old cars sporting their dealership stickers, whether repop or orig. I have repoped

Gorries stickers from Toronto and placed them on my 63 and 66 Chevs and on an '05 Impala

and a new Equinox just to throw everyone a curve..........maybe a new trend, tacky old car stickers.

The paint was not pristine and had a dull luster to it indicating it had been on there a while, so while I can't confirm originality it was obvious not a recent mirror finish. I saw no masking lines around the dealer decal which indicates to me it went on over the paint. Ted and I have seen RUMBLE stickers on cars whereas our Pontiacs both have cast emblems and our cars are 8 years apart in age, 65 to 73. At the time we saw the sticker on a 66 we opined that it must have been a repaint at the dealer body shop and resold there.

Here is what we are talking about regarding Rumble:

1966 Laurentian, I was told original owner however car was clearly repainted to my eye.

One other thing, I think having the dealer emblem or sticker on a vintage car is wonderful provenance and adds a lot of character to the car as well. Having said that I am a stickler for writing in my deals that the dealer is not to affix same when I buy new cars, I just like the cleaner look on my late model cars. I usually ask for one though and toss it in the glove box.

Agree ray, bought a new 68 Corvette at B&A Chev on Avenue Rd in Feb 68.........specified no emblem.......

they punched holes in the rear end above the plate......AAARRRGGGGHH!

sold the car in 69 with the holes still there.........but still have the emblem........

Don't suppose the black car had updated disc brakes on it?? Looks like a car that used to be around these parts, by way of the west coast.....

This car has been around Ontario for at least 10 years, at least I first saw it 10 years ago. It won the first Cruise Nationals, not sure who owns it but Al Webster of Bradford ON built it I believe. We all know that you could not get a 4 speed floor shift in 1958.

There was a beautiful black 58 running around Yorkton, Sask for a while a number of years back. Don't remember if it had a floor shift in it, but I do remember a Corvette booster under the hood. The guy who owned it said it came out of BC and had upwards of $90G in the resto. Maybe there's two black ones left???
