Is it a local car Darryl or did it come from the West?

I'm not sure. At the time he was just selling his pickup, so I didn't ask about it's origins. He also had a another '63 parts car at the time, but I haven't see it outside next to his garage lately.

Actually, it's a picture of his trailer that he's also selling. The truck just happened to be in the background. You are forgiven Jean!wink

This car is really nice....maybe I'm being bias because I have a 63 2 door hardtop also.

Here's a question for those who know about these things........

The chrome that surrounds the gas lid......is it factory, dealer installed or after market?

I believe those are only dealer installed accessories, are they not?

I know the outside mirrors were dealer installed and I would think you're right
about the gas lid chrome also being a dealer item...but ?
I suppose if someone had one off the car and if it has a id# that would tell the story
for sure.

Carl, just looked on ebay and in the U.S. it appears to be a GM accessory.

I spotted a "Fuel Door Guard" (proper term) for a number of GM Pontiacs, and other GM vehicles.

most have 6 digit numbers starting with 98____.

The one below (example to show original GM box) is for 1964 Tempest.

So would this be factory installed if it's a GM part?

The fuel door guards can be bought new aftermarket. Back in the day they were factory (or dealer-installed) on US models and could be made to fit Canadian models.

I retro-fitted one on my '64 from a '64 Impala.

2 years later, the car is still for sale.  Strange that it hasn't sold as it is a sharp looking car - I guess the market is really down?

It is a nice car ... but sad to say, just not $10,000.00 nice. I been driving past it for a long while, and it's always sitting outside on grass.
