Vintage muscle era car. Project or parts car. 350 engine and tranny working, not sure. Been sitting awhile. First guy with the cash gets her. Car is resting at Macklin Sask.. Looking for early's 1980-1985 V8 mustang for parts, will trade plus cash. Looking for axles ect. for my project.
I always thought Strato Chiefs were post cars. From the picture, looks too good for parts car and Saskatchewan car frames are usually good. Cheap price. Wonder if one zero is missing.

Good luck! That's why I post 'em here when I see 'em. Hoping that somebody will be able to find that car/part that they were looking for!
That's true up to 1968. For some reason there were no Canadian Pontiac 2 door post cars in '69 and beyond.

Got confimation from owner this morning, he'll hold it for me untill Saturday, and yes, $200.00 no way to go wrong on this one. Parts for the 70, although it will probably pain me to take it apart, It will have to be anexceptional car to sway my decision to chop it up.
Will post 69 parts when they are available if anyone is interested, (prices will be reasonable), better for somebody that can use them and not taking up space in my garage/sheds.

Great news. I hope it all works out for you. I believe it's a rare car, but you can't save them all. There comes a point when their best use is to keep others on the road.
Hi, As a kid growing up in the early 70's, This was a car that I remembered being driven around the rural towns of Saskatchewan where I grew up. . I would be lying if I said it was gently driven by a little old lady. It was only in the area for a very short time as the engine found it needed a rest. I thought it was sold and long gone.
Foward 35 years, events happened that I came across it sitting deeply buried in a bush and scrap pile. knowing what it was, a price was quickly established and paid. It is in tough shape but nothing that I can't repair. Posting some pics, Let me know what you think.

I'm glad to hear you are restoring the car. If you ever get the GM docs on it I'd really like to know how many Strato Chief's were made in 1969.
Here's the site founder in front of Dad's 69 Strato Chief circa 1976. The Strato was bought at Sinclair Pontiac Buick in London, Ont and was a company demonstrator.
Well after a 6 hour one way trip, 2 hours to load and another 6 hours back, the 69 strato is home. its a little rough around the edges and not really any better than the 70 2+2, body wise. it has usable interior panels in black. unfortunetly the trunk floor is no better than what I have already, but it was only $200.00.
The good part is the drivetrain is intact and the 350 looks like it may have been rebuilt at one point. The fellow figured it should run????????.....looking it over quickly the fluids and hoses are still where they should be and don't even look to bad, new exhaust system was put on it not long before it was parked...... still has antifreeze in the rad......... against my better judgement( like this would be my first time for that) I'm going to through in a battery and try to fire it.
If it does fire and holds the oil in the engine, this would be the first time I've ever had that kind of luck.
My problem now is which gets the attention it deserves. I like the front end look of the 69 more than the 70, both are rare and both need about the same work, I'll post some pics later.
I need some serious help and input from Canadian Poncho people to help me make up my mind on this one.......
I am partial to the '69 front end, so I say if condition of both cars is equal, fix the '69...but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Maybe you need to take a poll?
Congrat's on getting the 69 StratoChief home. I'm partial to a 69 over a 70 and eyed up that car as well. Considering I have several projects on the go I got shot down on a acquiring another.
If the build is strictly one of passion for a particular car then build what move's you. If you are remotely thinking of selling when done then tread very carefully.
Thanks for the input, I am thinking that the chief may be the one, after a very good look over of both, and not t mention that the cheifs engine fired and ran after a little coaxing, I can clearly see it had been rebuilt now. The last plates on it show 1986...even with an acelerator pump that is obviously dryed out, it idled and ran rather well once all 8 cylinders came alive.
My 70 shows extensive rust out along the top roof edge inside the car, no structure left...I can pull the skin off and rebuild but I think the chief is just as rare and like Eric said, build what moves you.
I hope no one will be to upset with me if I put the console and a set of buckets into it, maybe the 2+2 fender spears, but I would leave the 2+2 emblems off.
There are a few 70 fans that will want to talk to you about the other car. The build thread will be fun to watch ! I got to see the 69 Laurentian, that a member has, this summer. Nice You can do what makes you happy That will make the work more fun
That's great to find the potential parts car to be the one you want to build! Since neither car is anywhere near mint, I can't see any problem with you building it to your tastes, buckets and console and all. It's your car, your money, your skinned knuckles (lol). Enjoy the build and we'll enjoy watching it!
I got home from work today, finally some warmer tempratures, decided to grab the chiefs' keys and after sitting in minus 56 degree windchill weather since last week, gave 2 pumps and away we go, fast idle till warm I feel like a kid with a new toy today...just saying.
