One of the first photos anyone has of me is me straddling the engine of a 70 nova with a straight 6. The firing order is still ingrained in my head 1-5-3-6-2-4. If it wasn't 5000 km away and across the border, I'd snatch that up in a heartbeat. What's the tranny?

My brother's friend back in 1975 bought a 1970 Nova coupe similar to that car. His had a 230 and a 3-speed manual with an optional factory floor shift. His was also Desert Sand, and his also had Exterior Decor with the side moldings, fender louvers & chrome window frames. His also had factory Rally Wheels. He was surprised to find that it had an optional HD clutch. Inside it had tan interior, but his was the optional Custom interior with optional buckets. No console.

Ok, evidently I didn't make my post clear enough. There was more than one 3sp stick shift available.

One of them was an overdrive model. If you could identify which one you have, that information would go a long way for your potential buyer.

I disagree with the Old Ride site on some of the facts. The fact is overdrive was dropped after 1968 on Chevrolets and was never offered on the Chevy II or Nova. It had also been dropped from the Canadian market many years before that. In addition, the HD Muncie 3-speed was not offered in 1970 on Chevy passenger cars; it was in 1969 and it  returned for 1971/72 as a transmission option on 400 (402) Chevelles.

The 3 speed "on the floor" is nice     saves time when putting big block in...

Any dents in it?

I can relate to  this Chevy Nova because i had one from 1979-1980. Mine was a 1970 two door, white with black vinyl roof and black interior. Full wheel covers and white wall tires. My Nova had the 307 V-8 and power glide. The car was a real dream until i wrote it off in December 1980. I always thought that the 1968-1972 generation of Nova was a real good looking car, especially considering it was Chevy's budget bread and butter car. As much as i like this car and think that it has a ton of potential, the cost is out of line. You would be far better off buying one that is fully restored. I hope she goes to a good home. Cheers. George.

This Nova is special. Has tremendous potential and is ready for a resto, drive and use it to parts chase.Perfect COPO phantom/ tribute, Yenko Duece, or restore to original. Driver side floor needs replacement, and small areas on car. Dent on pass door, not bad, top has zero rust. The price is NOT firm, willing to listen to reasonable offers. She is a virgin with original paint,no body work done. There are no suprises with this one that y,ou see on some that you can call cleaner with new paint, etc. Wanted to stick my all stock '71 454/365HP motor and T56 6 speed and build a Baldwin Motion tribute. But have plenty of time later so it goes to someone who appreciates a blank canvass. Sell the 6 and 3 spd drive train , and let the games begin. Tony
