I want to attach a photo to a private message response. I can't seem to find an button for attachments or inserts. What am i missing?

On my old PC    I used to upload a photo via  Avatar....    then copy and paste it to the PM    

With my new Imac  I can copy and paste anything directly to the PM    

 

Do you Copy and Paste?
