Pontiac Wire Wheel Hubcaps

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Don't know what year, or what they originally came off of.  They were in the trunk of my Parisienne when I bought it.  They are 14" and are actual spoke disks... Looking for $50 for the set or best offer..  There is some pitting of the centre hubs, but some are better than others.. I'd rate the set about a 7 out of 10... PM me if interested.

I have a set of these, those are real nice. Unfortunately the best use for these is wall hangings. The market for this type of wheel cover has been killed by the preoccupation with Dog Dish or Poverty Caps that appear on all sorts of cars now, even those that would never have left factory with them. During the era they were produced these were a desirable addition but not now.

I'm insulted!! I recently bought a set for my 1981 Parisienne and think they look fine. Mine are 15" or I would have looked at these.

Thanks

Randy

I love wire wheels btw, that's why I have a set. Please don't be insulted by someone being realistic about the current market for these especially 14".

I would say that based on the 14" size and the center emblem, that these are off a 78 - 87 G-body like a GLM or a GP. My 77 has very similar emblems, and there's a slim chance they could be off a 77 Phoenix - the only other 77 I can think of that would have had 14"wheels.

They were so popular during the 80's we had to lock them because of thief problems.

My Dad lost his in a thief that took 5 minutes...he went in a 7-11 to buy a newspaper and when he came out all four were gone.

The other item that was constantly stolen in those days were the spring loaded hood ornaments all the cars had.

The tough part today is no one keeps hubcaps anymore.

If you need a certain hubcap, you'll never find it.

You should list them because you never know who's looking.

My car had a set of those late 70s wire caps on it when I got it.

Looked pretty good and I might of left them on but two had some serious curb rash.

The dog dish caps will go back one day. Grande caps, not for sale biggrin
