Is this a good idea?

Although we are a long way off, I've been thinking about the finishing in our wagon(Fannie). I happen to be telling someone

that I wasn't putting in carpet, that I wasplanning to put in the original black mat in the car. Anyway it was suggested that I

should think about putting a product on the floor like Rhino Bed Liner

http://liners.rhinolinings.com/en/p/products

on the floor before we put the mat in. It kinda sounds like a good idea but is it???

I would think as long as the floor is sealed with some sort of paint or undercoating you should be fine. The problem with a full rubber mat is that the floor cant breathe so any moisture that gets underneath stays there. I used Rockgaurd on my floor ( about $40 a gal ) and you can buy the applicator gun for about $25. Also applied on my undercarriage. Hope this helps.

No      Rhino liner is a fine product   but  why?     thats a lot of money

and why no carpet ?     carpet makes it warm and cozy

 it not a COPO wagon

so why not have a tiny bit of comfort?

NOS can give you a deal on carpet

just wondering

if you dont plan on driving the car in slop snow i woudnt do it, metal from the inside needs to breath, lots of new sound deading mats which dont absorb water like the old felt did are available, rino liner is hard to remove for repairs, rubber ndercoating is a better choice for the exterior.

If no one makes rubber mats for cars like 2 door Chevelles or Beaumonts

Where in the world would you find a full rubber floor mat for a A-Body Wagon ? confuseconfuse    just wondering

Thank you all for your opinions. I was having mixed about the liner, off gases, breathablity,
not to mentioned weight. So I think I have decided to not have a spray liner put inside the car.
The reason I was going with rubber mat is because that was what was original. So I'm
undecided about that point.
I can hardly wait to be at this stage but we have a lot to do yet. Thanks again everyone.

the original rubber mats have not been available for the 28 years NOS has been in business. We can however supply a heavy duty vinyl; the same material used in police cars, taxi's, etc. But why ?? . I would go with a molded carpet $209.00. Check out our web site on Poncho  home page. By the way the  vinyl is the same price; your choice
