1970 Le Mans - Has anyone seen this hood style before?

I just picked up another Le Mans project, and it has a hood style that I have never seen before.  It must have been an aftermarket style hood that was produced in the 70's perhaps.  If anyone knows anything about the hood scoop style, drop me a line.  It doesnt look like it was grafted on, if it was then it was a real professional job as I cannot find a single flaw that would indicate it was put onto a stock hood.

The car also has the 1969 GTO spoiler so it is an odd combination / look that someone was going for.  I thought at first that it may be a Jury or a Jury tribute, but the original color was not silver as the Jury was.

I think the hood is unique and intend to keep it that way if I can salvage it, the underside of the hood is pretty rusty in spots.

Sorry, can't help you with respect to the hood, but I wanted to congratulate you on obtaining a pretty cool project! Good luck and can't wait to follow your build thread...cheers, Whitey

Thanks, It will be the second LeMans that I have on the go. I have another 70 that I am just re-assembling and hoping to have on the road this summer providing I get motivated.

There are a lot of talented and innovative people out there. Does that scoop actually scoop?

as a 70 Lemans owner,  someone did a nice job with that hood, never seen one like that.

more pics when you get a chance ! looks to be buckets seats?

it may be the rare STAMPEDE/MOTION edition...

It looks similar to an late 70's (78-79) camaro scoop, if it was not an aftermarket hood, then it was an excellent job of grafting it on. It has a removable blank in the back of it, more for look than function I am guessing. It may have been an induction scoop for a camaro is what I am thinking, but just wanted to see if anyone has seen this as an aftermarket hood that may have been made at some point for a Le Mans.

Here is a side view, not a great pic, but more will follow.  It has buckets and a column shift auto.  It may have originally had a bench, but I havent gotten that far to figure out for sure.

I originally hoped it was the stampede edition (Jury), but it doesnt appear so.  It does have the Jury pins, spoiler, and exhaust tips so I think someone was headed that direction with it.  There were some column shift auto Jury made as well, but all were supposedly blue interior with silver exterior.  This car was originally green / green.

There were 20 - 4 speeds and 6 - column shift autos made. Here is a good read about them.

The jury ,,, thats funny . I have never have seen one here in the USA. I had a friend who before he died always wanted to make a car, a wagon into a car called the Jury but it would have been a Pontiac wagon either a 69, 70, 71, wagon into a car that looked like a Judge but as a wagon it would have been the jury but not a lemans as a Jury. Not though. But as I see the scoop is from a 78 camaro or 79 . The scoop has been made to fit the hood . It looks pretty good on the hood. But it is from a camaro & not an aftermarket hood. Although there was & is a few compays that still make this hood scoop for the camaro or other cars to use.
