Finally got the front wheels and tires I wanted on the car. It had a set of new rally rims with all new 225/70R15 rubber but it wasn't the look I wanted. Original super duty is what I've wanted since I was a kid. Give me a plain jane super sticker any day of the week.
Backs are just on for now. They'll get cleaned up and painted and bigger rubber put on. Cheater slicks.

'64 Parisienne CS "barn find" - last on the road in '86 ... Owner Protection Plan booklet, original paint, original near-mint aqua interior, original aqua GM floor mats, original 283, factory posi, and original rust.
BF Goodrich blackwalls 8.00x14". Just like what they came with. I wish radials came in 80-85 height but for the period correct look I knew bias ply would be my option. That's why I'm gonna be throwing a set of bias ply cheater cheater slicks on the rear.
I wish I could! Haha. But since I've done the tire/wheel change the colour has grown on me but I'm still gonna get it painted most likely. the body is arrow straight and rust free so either original silver like the Swiss cheese cars, I like the yorktown blue or black.
Was an original 389 auto on the column. The owner prior put a 428ci with a th400, shifter on the floor now.
In time a 4 speed will be dropped in. Probably the same time the motor gets a refresher and some different parts thrown in it.
The rear end is only an open 2.56 gearing, but I have another rear with a posi and 3.23. I'll probably do a swap but I'd still prefer a bit of a lower gear ratio then that. But it'll be nicer on the highway
With the newer engine it's easier to find intake manifolds, maybe a 2x4 or tri-pwr. I had a th400 in my GTO for awhile and used a Hurst auto stick1. It bolts to the trans and looks like a 4-speed and it even fit in the console. Don't think they are produced anymore but have seen them at flea markets. Also left the clutch pedel hang. It maybe hard (expensive) to get a US built set of pedals. I belong to POCI and seen them advertised for large $$$. I don't know what it would take to fit a set of Can Pont pedals in. Barry
Nice car. If & when you change over to std. trans you'll need the bell hsg. that has the trans pattern 'tipped' to one side to give the clearance to "narrow" floor tunnel!! Thats why the Auto's were nick named "SLIM JIM's The Catalina, & Grand Prix have the narrow tunnel while the Starchief & Bonniville had large floor tunnel & used the 4 spd. "BIG" Hydromatic. I had to do some "hammer" mods. to my floor tunnel when I swapped out the Roto Hydro [Slim Jim} to a Turbo 350 in mine, Tight fit!! Big bear is correct that the pedals are exp. & I'm not sure how much work it would be to even "try" to use Cdn. pedals but certainly won't "bolt' in. cross shaft will be diff.+ the brkts due to diff. style frame etc. Pete

Some times I wake up GRUMPY, but today I let her sleep in !!!!!!!!BLACKSTOCK Ont.
Yeah I won't go Canadian pedal route. Too many headaches I can already forsee. And the tunnel! Already enlarged because the previous owner out a th400 in it. Shouldn't need too much massaging to throw a 4 spd in there!
Out from the darkness and cover of the shop and it had 12.56v on the battery after sitting all those months. August probably. Fired right up on queue. Alittle rinse and it looks a little more presentable haha
That is a really neat car. I had a set of ralley wheels on my car for a couple of years. Then I added a dogdish on the rears. They did not work as well as I had expected and the evolution continued.
Went under the knife today. I think I measured 24 times before drilling the holes and cutting the big hole hahaha. Couldn't be more happy with it. Turned out awesome.
