I wanted one of these since high school. A buddy's older brother had a red Ss427 4 speed convertible that he ended up with.
I need to get rid of 2 cars to buy this unless I can trade my 87 Grand National, 01 Aurora & some cash!

The drivers side floor pan looks ok in the pic. That's usually the 1st spot to go. How's the frame?

The floor pans all need to be replaced.  To make the job easier, I have a complete original floor pan from a clean donor car that will go with the convert.

The frame is pretty solid, but has the flaky rust that is typical of mid-west cars.  There is one section in the rear spring pockets that would need some work, otherwise it should clean up nice.

Yes - spent most of its life in Anderson Indiana - is that still considered mid-west?

RE: 1968 Impala SS427 Project Convertible - Running and Documented - NEW PRICE $8500

Just to clarify - I'll still knock $2500 off the price if I get to keep the hood = $6k w/o the hood.

Sweet car there and so worthy of a compete and proper resto. In 1983 i was in the process of buying a 68 Bel Air two door post with 307 powerglide, all original low miles, in the same blue as yours from a neighbor. That car would have been mine except for the lady having a change of heart. She had bought the car new and always babied it. To this day i am still sad i never got that 68 because i love 68 Chevy's. Good luck with the sale. Cheers. George.

RE: 1968 Impala SS427 Project Convertible - Running and Documented - NEW PRICE $7900

The ebay auction for this car ended last night at $7400 US - I'm sending out second chance offers now to accept that price so this car can find a new home.

Anyone interested?

Hi Carl - that sounds about right.  I ball parked the exchange rate from $7400 US.  I'm not going to quibble over the $133 and dont expect a buyer would either.

If it doesn't sell be weekend, I'll drive it back into storage, take the ads down and when I pack it in the wife can have it crushed with the rest of them.
