I am installing a Muncie M-20 into my sons 1974 GTO. The car originally came with a Saginaw 4 speed, factory console. I am trying to sort out which Hurst competition shifter and linkage setup will work inside the factory console. The people at Hurst were no help, basically just reading out of the catalog, and they don't have anything listed for that combination. Has anybody tried this combo. I think the 1969 Camero shifter and linkage would work. Any thoughts, ideas, recommendations would be appreciated.
Even though there were styling changes for 1973 / 74 I'm pretty sure the sub frame and rear cross member assembly is basically the same as 1968 thru 1972 Novas & Acadians. I think the Hurst shifter for a Nova of that period with a Muncie 4 speed and console is what you need.

Yes.
I would find the equivalent of the factory Hurst shifter for a 1969 Camaro with a Muncie. The 2nd Gen Novas used the same cowl structure and front subframe as the 1st Gen Camaro / Firebird. Camaros used genuine Hurst shifters on Camaros 1969-71. They all used the backdrive system for the ignition / steering / transmission interlock (important if you want your keys back).

Thanks for the reply. The Hurst shifters listed for the 1970 to 1973 Nova's have a catalog listing, but it is all for a non-console car. I think the 1969 Camero might be a better fir. Still investigating.
Thanks for the heads up. That is exactly almost what I was thinking. That is the same shifter as the 1969 Camero, I just need the install kit for the 1969 and up Muncie's with the bolt on shifter arms. I think that is what I am going to order, I was just hoping somebody had already tried it to confirm my suspicions.
