Rear body uneven.

I recently replaced the front springs in my '68 2+2 and then checked the ride height. I then noticed the LR was lower than the RR at the wheel opening. There was some body repair done so I remeasured at the body line ( 1/2" lower ). I measured the actual ride height ( frame to diff tube ) and they are equal. My question is, could sagged out body mounts cause this condition? I did buy the body mount kit. Just haven't gotten around to changing them yet.

Not sure what the problem could be, but you may want to take a look at your body mount kit.  The mounts in the kit for ahead of the rear axle are likely completely different than what's on the car.  I'm facing that dilemma on the chassis I'm doing for a 70 hardtop.

Thanks for the heads-up Clint. I bought my kit from NOS but I'll definitely check them before I start removing.

Not to say it's normal but I think if you went around at a car show and measured all the cars, you'd be amazed at how few (if any) cars actually sit level.

We've run in to this at the dealership from time to time with a fussy customer and new cars are awful. I recall a brand new beautiful 86 Cutlass Supreme that was 5/8" off from side to side, right off the car carrier.
