1967 Parisienne 427 engine, front right stamp pad coded T03071H. How do I prove it is a '67 engine? Shop manual and part

I am trying to prove a '67 Parisienne 427 engine, rt front boss stamped T03071H, is actually a 1967 engine. Shop manuals and parts catalog decode the VIN, but not the actual engine date code. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance, SS409.

What about your casting numbers?

Not sure about 1967, but I suspect the casting number should be just behind the drivers side head, and the casting date code should be just behind the passenger side head.  Casting date code will have 3 parts to it:  Letter, Number, Number.

Letter is the month (A=Jan, B=Feb, etc), First Number is the day of the month, and the second Number is the last digit of the year.    Early 1967 model year blocks would have been cast in 1966, so the last digit may be either a 6 or a 7.

I suspect the stamping is actually T0307IH.  I looked up the IH code and it's for 1966 - 1968 427's, so I think we're back to looking at casting dates.   0307 translates to March 7, so the the casting date should be a little earlier in the year, say mid-January to late February, putting the Letter of the casting code as an A or B.  The interesting thing will be the last digit, if it's a 1967 model year block, it should then be a 7 for January or February 1967.

You indicate the VIN (or partial VIN) is stamped on the block.   I'm not sure when that started, but I don't believe they did that in 1966, so that too may help you identify the year.  May have started in 1967 to help identify parts from stolen cars.

From what I can tell, a 1967 model year 427 block should be casting # 3904351.   Please note I edited the date code information above, should be Letter, Number, Number.

1968 they started stamping the VIN's on the motors and trans.

Thanks a bunch, guys!!
block casting number is indeed 3904351, same as that engine when in Canadian Chevy cars. Can't see the date code, have to remove the 400 turbohydro to get at it - will let you know.
Cheers, Marvin.
