Hi from Toronto (and Saskatchewan!)

Hi guys.  Just wanted to say hello and thanks for having me.  Just getting back into the swing of things here after having my car stored for 20 years.  I have owned it since 1985 (first car) and have enjoyed every minute of the restoration process.

I live in Toronto now, but my car is still stored in Saskatchewan.  I am posting a few pictures that were taken when I got it home and washed.  Nothing fancy, but you get the idea.  I'll post some new pics when I find a suitable location and get it some new rims and tires.  That's been on my list for a long, long time!

Thanks again!  I have enjoyed checking out your rides and following the discussions.  It's great to find a group of people with Pontiac Passion!

Welcome to the site RobSD. Is that ever a sharp car, wow, I like the colors. I haven't seen a set of those ET wheels since I sold mine about 30 years ago....they really match your car. Polished rad tank, awesome detailing under there. Very very nice.

Welcome from Toronto, Rob! A 66 SD convertible is a a rare one, and yours even has the complete original moldings (pretty hard to find if you don't have them). Don't be a stranger on the site.

Welcome from Winnipeg. Love the colour. It sure makes that white interior  pop. Is that a 283 four speed or 327 .

Hey guys.  The car lives in Moose Jaw.  It'll be out again later this summer - probably early August.  Are you somewhere close by?  I'm happy to meet up when I get back there.   Always better to check out these cars in person!

And the color is factory.  Royal Mist, if I recall correctly.  The interior is GM white.  Top is white too.   It's a 327 4 speed with about 48,000 original miles.  I have some General Motors Corporation rally wheels that are waiting for some rubber.  Just haven't got the rims sprayed yet.  Looking forward to that change.  The ET rims have been with it since I bought it.  Nice weather this week in TO and I REALLY wish I had the car here....

'nothing fancy !!' are you kidding me !

awesome car !

oh and for the record, GM of Canada built 565 1966 Beaumont Custom convertibles, they built 57 Sport Deluxe convertibles, they built 10 with a white convertible top - and yours is a 327 4-speed !! low mileage and the body looks great !!!

For some reason the 327s were uncommon in Beaumonts & Canadian Chevelles in the early models. A 327 4-speed SD convertible. Man, that is a sweet all around package that should be great to drive and also reasonably economical. You lucky dog!

Those painted Cragars are a real throwback in time. They didn't make many of those aluminum center Cragar S/S wheels.  Originally shot-peened and called "The Sparkers" they are from around 1970, at least the shot-peened versions were. That aftermarket steering wheel is also a step back in time. I don't know if I would be in a rush to undo all those Day 3 modifications since they were cool in their day and show a lot of character.

When you get it to Toronto you ought to bring it out to Route 66 some Wednesday evening (Pharmacy & Eglinton). I will be sure to bring my drool bucket.

That's a great car, looking forward to seeing it in Toronto. There aren't too many of us from Toronto proper on this site but CdnGMfan, 65Camino and me do frequent Route 66 in Scarborough from time to time as Cam indicates. would love to see the car there. What part of Toronto are you living in?

Thanks 67BBSD.  I didn't know that!  I had received some information from GM on the car based on the VIN at one point.  I think it's in the glove box.  I have production date, location, number, paint and interior colours, original power train, etc.  I didn't know that stats on the number of Beaumont SD Convertibles with white interior and tops though.   Is there a site that is a good resource for production stats and original specs for classic Pontiacs??  I just checked my latest appraisal and they didn't include the information.  I'm glad to have found CP!  The site and all of you guys are a tremendous resource!
