Moved some stuff and look what we found!!

Motor(s) anyone? from 1957 283 4bbl to 1970's 350-300hp. The clean-up is going slow but sure and thought I would take a pix or 2 of the motors. Have a place in Vancouver called 'Top Ten Auto Recyclers' (Ken) saying they want to buy them all but till then, if you need a particular motor, I may have it. Take care all, back to work for me, cheers Dave

Legitimately bought from the scrap metal recycle-rs around town here. They're a little tired but work good for what I needed 'em for.

Hi Barry, this motor was pulled from a 1957 Chevy 'shorty' bus, my customer that I bought the motor from said it was a decent runner but was upgrading to get more 'balls' as he was going to travel with it. Its 100% complete and original from oil pan to carb and still even has the original glass bowl fuel filter set up. This may have been a late production bus as the numbers on the motor seem to come up being used in 58's more often but it was definately pulled from a '57. But all parts are vintage correct. Price for the motor complete as it sits is $1200. or if you have anything of interest you would like to barter with, I'm all ears. Original price was $1500.

The world might be but not Dave, just getting older-wiser, probably just a time to clean up like the rest of us. I can remember 25 yrs ago or more when I was racing with my brother inlaw ```RUDE RICK``Dave supplied us with alot of parts that were hard to find & we were wrecking them!!!! Comes a time when we all need to wind down, congrats on Dave for starting to take it easy although I dont think there will be another Tin Man equivalent.

Well theres a bit of an explanation required here, I've always sold motors, matter of fact I sell an average of a motor a month and after 35 years is more than 400. Truth be known though is that the pix you see on this post are of motors I sell. I do, however, have another area of the shop that has a little collection of motors that are not for sale and are not pictured. So Dave, don't start running for the hills quite yet, I still have that motor you've been eyeballing, maybe its time to do some horse trading! Call me if interested.

Wow Jim, very very kind words and I 'Thank-you' so much for that. It is time for me to start thinking of the near future (next 5 years) and I really really want my shop back all to myself. I've got so many fun projects I want to get into, from building a custom chopper tricycle to a '41 Willys go cart. I had over 70 old peddle cars that I was restoring but sold about 50 of them but kept around 20 of the really cool ones. I've got a '64 Malibu SS that I'm dying to build into a retro-style 60's straight axle gasser, and have my '59 Impala being painted as we speak that I'm all excited about doin', blah blah now i'm just ramblin, sorry guys. On a different subject, I remember all too well supplying and sponsoring over 30 different racers every season, it was a BLAST. Alot of good times back then and alot of fun, also the "Enduro" races, man I gave away alot of cars but was it ever alot of laughs. The best I ever finished was 14th out of 180 car start with a '71 Impala 2 drht. Ah, good memories....priceless! Thanks for mentioning that too Jim, you stirred up alot of great thoughts and times that I hadn't had a chance to think of for a long time, so cool. My humble gratitude to you jim. With much cheer, Dave

Hey Dave,

Wouldn't happen to have a Grand National or 2 sitting around would you? Looking for a good shifter handle...
