Mike, i can feel your pain brother. Dealing with certain folks can be real challenging. I know this first hand, vending vintage parts and memorabilia for over 30 years. I have hundreds of automotive related ads on Kijiji and i would have to say that 40 % of folks are the real deal, the rest.............. well i would rather not say. It is amazing you have not sold that beautiful car yet. Mike if i did not have my 57 Pontiac, i can tell you honestly that i would be paying you a visit. Mike, have you considered E Bay to sell your 57. Good luck with the sale. Cheers. George.

Do not forget to practice safe hibernation. Good luck with the sale next year and if my 57 Pontiac gets stolen before then, i will be giving you a call to buy your car. Cheers. George.

wow, so 60% are "well I would rather not say"!
I've bought & sold for years on eBay, Kijiji, classifieds, flea markets and can count on the fingers of one hand the number of bad experiences. My approach with buyers and sellers has always been treat the other party with respect.

So what are you saying, that you think i do not treat people with respect, is that it. I take real pride in the way i have always conducted myself, in dealing with people i do business with. Whether it is buying and selling automotive stuff in the hobby or work related. Over 30 years in dealing with customers through my trade. Consider yourself lucky that you can count on your one hand bad experiences. I know people that have had to deal with even far worse than i have. You might be reading way too much into "well i would rather not say". George.

I think some depends on what you're selling. As an example I have a '96 BMW e36 2 door here I'm trying to sell. First go round on kijiji I near wanted to just shoot myself in the face I got so frustrated. Waited a month, listed again, out of 10 calls, 5 were flakes, 2 actually showed up. Of the two, I was polite and up front about everything. Ask price was well in line with all the others. Didn't hear anything from the first, the second offered me scrap price two days later.
So, it sits waiting for spring and I'll reluctantly list it again.
I did sell a camper trailer in kijiji a couple of years ago. It did sell pretty quick, but the signal to noise ratio was still pretty bad.
As for George, having bought from him already, I can vouch for his demeanor. He has been exceptionally forthright, prompt, polite and professional from the initial query by me through all the resulting stages of completing the sale. If George had issues with people on kijiji or craigslist I am 99.9% sure it was not caused by anything he did or said.
I on the other hand have less patience for people. After one guy jerked my chain for two weeks on the BMW, missed several appointments to come see the car, I finally told him I'd rather burn it than sell it to him for twice the price.
To stay on topic, the 57 for sale in this thread is gorgeous. It may take some patience to find the right buyer, but I believe the pricing is more than fair for it's condition!
