RE: My Wifes project - 64 Parisienne Safari 327

I have had the issue with the block under the booster. I have run an extra power wire in both pontiacs to the fuse panel to limit the strain on those connectors.

Finally finished the real wood inserts in the dash today.  Lots of work but well worth it.

Well after much frustration and chasing of wires I found the short to be a missing bulb and the wire in the bottom of the socket traveled out and caused a short.  Then for good measure I put a new headlight switch in and had a short again.  Turned out a defective headlight switch.  So another new switch and back in business. Finally re assembled the dash and got it outside to see it in the light

Wow, good work sticking with it until you got it.

Frustrating when a new part is defective.

Mike, you really must be in old car heaven. You have an amazing wonderful wife (Allison) and you have an amazing wonderful dad (Wayne), that have been there from the start with the resto on Allison's 64 wagon. Most of us are not lucky enough to get it one way but in two ways ....... WOW. A dad that is a body resto expert and a wife that loves to get in there and help with the resto. Mike, i am green with envy and really really jealous. I have followed the resto and i am really looking forward to seeing the car when it is done. I am assuming the car will be at Nashville North cruise night in Norval when it is done. Continued good luck and cheers my brother. George

SMS  did your panels?  I ask because they did my 66 GP panels and didn't cut holes for window cranks either.

SMS did the dielectric hits on the vinyl. Then I had the vinyl sent to the lady who did my impala interior to be assembled. We have bought all our material off her and want to make sure it is all a match. The holes are in the door card but they never cut the vinyl until assembly incase there are things out of whack from who knows whatnover the years. That way you can be sure the cranks all cover the openings

So finally back into the wagon.   Metal work is all done now!!! Whoooo hoooo!!!!!  Now skimming the welds with some filler and soon on to the task of block sanding.   If we can stay on track we are hoping to see it have some paint flowing before the cold comes... fingers crossed

Here's hoping you get it done in time to enjoy it before you have to store it for the winter.
