1962 Parisienne Convertible Rear Seat Question

When I bought the last parts car, the fellow sweetened the pot by throwing in the rear seat backrest section from a 63 Parisienne convert. Nice touch, since I didn't have the correct rear seat, but......does it look even remotely like a 62 seat?

Having bought the car with no seats, I really don't know what the 62 convert rear seat looks like. This one seems to fit, at least.biggrin

I guess it's kind of similar. Love the upholstery, Carl. Is that your car?

That looks like a 64 custom sport rear seat.

IMG_0896.JPGI agree with Pete. Although it does not look like original material ('64 Custom Sport seats were vinyl), the pattern is similar to a '64 CS. The speaker grille is most definitely a '64CS.

The word PONTIAC in Carl's post sits lower and doesn't have horizontal bars, just one vertical bar in the middle of the grill....not the same.  1963/1964  63-64-Pontiac-Grand-Prix-Rear-Seat-Speaker-Grill-Nice

It looks like my seat is perhaps 63-64. Maybe the 61 and 62 were the same. I suppose I could find the correct speaker grille sometime and sell mine......of course I'm a long way from that right now. It's sure hard to find a good used convertible seat. When I think of all the.......never mind. We've all thrown out stuff we wish we still had :)

I was commenting on HonestDave's picture, not the one posted by Carl.

I've been half thinking of taking the material and padding from the 62 Hardtop rear seat and trying to nip and tuck it to fit the convertible seat framework. Guess I'd be the only one around with vinyl and cloth seats in a ragtop !!
