Thats a great Alberta truck! Low miles, one owner.. you'd be amazed the junk I've seen out here that's on the road, cars literally cut in half a rewelded back together...awesome
If you BORROW another truck with perhaps the same paint code and buy this one for 10 Gs you have a truck you can make a profit with. Not saying people do this sort of thing.
My brother used to go to a lot of salvage auctions. He sometimes saw ridiculous prices paid for total writeoffs, even burned vehicles. That changed a bit when the laws started branding vin's as being non-repairable. That helped the cause a bit anyway, it made thieves pay more to buy a vin for their stolen vehicle.

And Then the Insurance companies started (in Ont.) branding them salvage again Insurance makes big bucks off some of these situations
I can't tell - is the engine gone? If yes, why bother?
The whole front end is gone - so you'd need an entire front clip. I think you'd have to look at the cab and box to see how bent they are. From the photo, they might not be too bad, but you can't really tell. I would think you'd have to inspect the frame looking for kinks. If the cab & box are still square and there are no kinks in the frame, it might not be that bad (once you get the front clip off).
Personally, at US$10k with no engine? Not a hope.
It's always good to see a few of these if you're looking for used vehicles. A good reminder of what could be lurking behind that shiny paint...
