....car is ok, but I am tired of seeing these " barn find " cars. To me a barn is where cows, horses, chickens , straw , etc are kept. Have you ever seen what a cow does to a vehicle that is parked ? they rub and bend the crap out of it. Horses will eat the seats too. Not to mention the mice and even rats. All these city cars found in a barn , yeah right. I've lived on a farm all my life and have never found a barn find yet.

Agreed Michael, but I think the meaning of "barn find" has nowadays been expanded upon. In the case of my car, I call it a "barn find"wink in my signature, but actually it was parked and left in a old guy's garage, located in Maine, since 1986.

When I first moved to PEI, I missed a true 7 car barn find by hours. They were free, and many were covered by hay (he said). He was the owner's grandson, and one car he recognised was a moredoor '70s Chevelle. The ad went on KiJiJi at around 8:30 in the morning, and by the time I phoned from work (around 10:00 am.), I was told there was already somebody on their way with a tow rig.cry I phoned again an hour later, and sure enough, 2 cars were already taken. I phoned again around 3:00 pm. and all were gone, but the grandson said there was a couple boxes of parts he found, and asked if I wanted them, but it wasn't worth the trip or trouble for me.

Johnny, REALLY? Thanks so much for ripping on me and my use of the category "Barn Find" next time I will certainly refer to the Ringo Dictionary before I make such a mistake again.

Feel free to contact Wikipedia....with your anger management of the term 'Barn Find"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barn_find

I too, was also raised on a farm in Europe.....had I lived there long enough to own such a classic car as this one....I would have done the smart thing, and placed the car in and away section of the barn away from all the animals....just as this previous owner did....as is obvious of the great condition of this Barn Find.

Johnny I look forward to the day you sell one of your cars on this website....but no worries, as I would never stoop so low as to say anything negative.

Sincerely, Dan "The Barn Find Guy"

...so barn find guy dan. I referred to the term " barn find " in general. that car is not yours according to the post. You slam me cause of what I said about barn find term cars. You directed your slam at me. Fine, I'm not going to take this to the point that a mod will have to " moderate " the posts here. I'd like to see the pictures of all these barn find cars being pulled out of those barns. Sorry to hurt your feelings.

"Sorry to hurt your feelings" ....apology accepted. I too apologize.

I personally do not care about any or all pictures of the rests of the Barn Finds of the world. Feel free to look up "Barn Finds" there are a ton of pictures of them on the net.

I agree with.....Timbuk 100%

^^^^ Totally agree - mostly staged for a photo short or the term "barn find" used rather loosely to inflate demand and $$.

My 2nd barn find, was a 1964 Corvair turbo charged Spyder, when I was a teenager...that's when I learned, upstairs can be 10x better than downstairs barn storage.
It was an Ohio car that got parked for 4 years in the bottom of my bosses barn, on the dirt floor...when we pulled it out:
- the exterior body sheet metal were still rust free / but the floor pan were toast, only the interior carpet held the rot together from it all falling to the ground

When I stored cars in a barn, the good stuff was always parked on the second floor which is usually quite dry & well ventilated from gaps between the barn board siding.
- lower levels are often damp & musty vaults of tin death
- barn storage on a dry wooden thrash floor can be most ideal, but car top exterior can be eventually covered in dust & pigeon droppings (if a few boards missing)

My 1st true barn find, was a blue 1955 Pontiac Chieftain 2 door post...solid 6 cyl car, with decent cloth interior.
- towed it to our farm with a logging chain & tractor, GF steering car...had a bad starter, so I flipped it for double my money ($300 profit 4 decades ago, I was 17 y/o).

The sale of my 1955 Chieftain completely paid for the '55 Chevy 2 door post I found - that was a "little old ladies" retired car / a real garage find.

That was one really cool 55. Everything was of a certain era.

If you want to see what it means to be a "barn find", look up the old thread on this site about Cosworth Vegas. Apparently the barn collapsed onto them no
