got thr 53 up and running she turned oover great had oil in the holes blew that out new plugs and points oil change thinkin it has some stuck/sticky valves 40 psi oil would like to free them up w/o pulling head looking for ideas, valves are in block yikes
? done a compression check on it?? try finding some Sea foam or Reislone & run it with that in the oil [if stuck] What are you running it on, for fuel, jerry can, plastic jug, or the cars tank, you may have crap in the fuel system & not stuck valves

Some times I wake up GRUMPY, but today I let her sleep in !!!!!!!!BLACKSTOCK Ont.
Start her up rev her up and slowly pour some Reislone down the carb as shes running, keep the revs up or she will stall. Will smoke like a sob. Shut her down and let sit, also works on seized piston rings.
did the seafoam in the holes as 77srx suggested used gunk added it to the new oil is put in ran er for 5/10 min drained the oil added new oil with a quart of trans fluid and some moly slip its getting better but not all the way hawkeye which reislone should i try? not giving up yet its definatly loosening up!
Been about 35 years since I did my 50 Dodge flat head so I had to phone the master (dad), also had to do it on one of my old 283's that had been sitting for about 12 years. Use Rislone engine treatment same stuff you normally mix with your oil Part # 34102. Just trickle in 1/3 -1/2 ltr while running and then let sit, like stated will smoke like a sob. Will break up gum and carbon, old trick I learnt from the master. Good luck
when is the last time the valves have been adjusted?......the exhaust valves are notorious for tightening up due to wear (unleaded fuel)
....easy to do ...check on line
