The Beaumont is home in Oregon

Well, this will be a project, going to hang new doors, fenders, quarters and floors. I am going to change it to a 327 4 spd car and improve the suspension. Hey , at least the hard to find SD stuff is there and decent.

Lookin' good. I love the colour combo!

I would think that you are going to do a frame-off, as it needs a frame or frame repairs also Kelvin?

Yes, I have a frame already. I bought the rolling chassis from West Coast Customs that came out of Rusty Wallaces 66 Elky build they did on the show. It still has the exhaust, front disc brakes and rear end still in it to, will shorten it the required 3" and be ready to swap it.

Cool. Should be a beautiful car when done!

Is an El Camino frame boxed like a convertible's?

Yeah , same frame. It is I believe 3.19" longer after the rear end, easy to shorten.

$500.00... Unbeleivable huh?  Clean look with the wheel covers.  Are those oversized back tires?...

For $500, I would have been all over that clean '66 SD hardtop / stunning car.

Back in 1974, a week after I bought my $50 Chevelle 2 door post, I treated it to new Cragers & white letter tires for the tune of $450.

+1 months take home pay, for a teenager - could have bought me a whole car, with strato buckets (LOL).

- I'd be, "the new kid on the block, with the hot car".

Kelvin, big congrats on your 66 SD rag top purchase / sure looks like a nice one, even the front bumper looks excellent.

- got to remove the rubber side molding though (he-he)...when time to, freshen up the exterior.

Started removing the interior to get ready for the frame swap and found that the floors aren't terrible but I will order a 1 piece floor with braces. This should save some time and make a better finished project.
