Steve, those are really beautiful bumper caps and i wish you all the luck in selling them. One of the most rare parts on a 57 Pontiac to find like this. GM messed up by not blocking that area into the cap. That hole that allowed all slush, water and salt back there was a dumb idea on GM's part. If that hole was not there, then these would not be so sought after. The caps on my 57 were repaired a long time ago before i bought the car but they were repaired smooth with out the original indentations. I have included a photo of what my caps look like. I wish i could afford your caps because i would buy them in a heart beat. Cheers. George.

I have no idea how rare they are but if they're that hard to find I'd make him an offer cuz at some point you're probably going to regret not buying them - just my opinion

Hi Steve, do you still have these? Wow do those look nice. I'd have to run it by the boss, but I think I'd be interested.

Brad, you should PM Steve with your interest because he may not be on here very often. You should check out Steve's web site concerning the amazing build of his 57 Pontiac Laurentian four door sedan. Cheers. George.

So what is the purpose of the caps?  Would the exhaust be routed through there normally?

Good point George. I have dealt with Steve in the past. Great guy.

Oh, and to MC, they were purely cosmetic, with the exception (someone correct me if I'm wrong) of American Bonneville models, that had an oval opening for exhaust tips.

Also the upper level American Star Chief model had the exhaust there as well. Of course Canadian Pontiac's never had this feature.

When I restored my car I bought NOS caps in Texas for $800 which have the exhaust openings and had my dual exhausts put through them.

I still have the caps which were with my car which possibly could be restored. I also have all other rear bumper parts.
