Raj, thanks for sharing those neat looking Pontiac models with the Pontiac brotherhood. Back in around 1980-1981, i did something really stupid. I sold all of my Pontiac promo model cars to a model collector i knew through the hobby. I was into Chevy's heavily and the Pontiac's did not appeal to me at the time, stupid right. I sold two 1960 Pontiac convertibles, one 1962 Pontiac convertible, one 1962 Pontiac two door hardtop, one 1963 Pontiac two door hardtop and two 1964 Pontiac two door hardtops. THEY WERE ALL DEALER PROMO MODELS. I get sick now just thinking about selling them. It is something that i have tried to get over but still have a hard time dealing with. To replace all those models today would be a fortune. George.

If you get on the (Model Car Garage) web site, there are some incredible model cars on their Galleries of model cars. The talent is amazing, where they take a production model kit and make it far better and almost real. Keep your eyes open for some Pontiac kits and there is even a scratch built 1956 Pontiac sedan delivery.

I keep saying I'm going to pick up 2 65 Pontiac model kits. One a Bonneville and one a Grand Prix. I'll use the body of the Bonny and the grille of the GP to make a Custom Sport.

Now there is an idea.

Never mind that, they just might want to smoke the dynamite powder for that extra kick........ blow some blow.
Like the Ajax in Cheech & Chong.

No no no! Don't blow them up after all that work! Be kind to your model cars...

That's a project I want to take on when I get back into the swing of the hobby again. Haven't built one in a few years, been too busy.
My vision:
- 3 kits: '65 Bonne, '65 GP, and '65 Impala
- Cut the roof off the Bonne, shorten the wheelbase of the GP body to match the Impala chassis.
- Put the Bonne fastback roof on the GP body, using the Impala chassis and drivetrain.
- Mix and match interior pieces to come up with the right combo.
- Hopefully put them all together and finish off other details (like tail panel, etc.) as needed.
Would take a ton of work, but might be a cool project.

From the Cheech and Chong movie "Up in smoke" (1980), where Chong thinks he is doing blow but is actually cleaning out his nasal cavities with Ajax. Hilarious.

Shortly after purchasing my 58 Parisienne, I was at a show, when a fellow came up and asked if I owned the model from Danbury Mint! My response was no, so he said that this model was the exact replica of my car, so I should definitely get it! Well looked it up on the internet and sure enough, a 1958 Bonneville as shown in the pix.I put my request in for a family Christmas present and sure enough Santa came through. I have a few models in my collection, but this one for sure is my favorite! This way I can have one car in my garage and the other, in my basement! Bob.

Bob, that die cast of your 58 looks so real. That has to be one of the better ones and it even has a spot light, now that is real sweet.
