Happy anniversary to you and your Mopar. I remember back in the '90's talking to this older coworker about not ever buying a new car. He responded: You're a mechanic. Get used to it. Chances are you never will. Well so far he's been right. Closest has been a 2001 Grand Prix lease return. P.S. Randy, you need to get that little car back together before you lose all the pieces.

I sure appreciate the kind words timbuk and Shawn I'll offer you a ride when I put the engine back in.

John I sure appreciate you kind offer to help put it together!!

Cousin 427 Carl and I have sure had some similarities in life but never met:

Same family home towns, both moved away early in life.
We both love Canadian Pontiacs, Acadians and Beaumonts.
Both had 427 Strato Chief 2 dr sedans.
Both had 1967 SD 396's
Both had 429 Torinos
Both are tire crazy

And now I learn he worked at a Chrysler Dealership.
Me too from 1997-2000 !!

Thanks
Randy

Randy, I apologize now for the derail but you need to know you're in the company of a couple of shady used car salesman from 1984! One is certainly a lot more clean cut than the other!

Excellent Carl!!
I've been selling cars my whole life and still hold my dealers license. I had a pretty good run of used car lots my day and always tried to give people a fair shake, and I'm betting you and Carl did too. Acadians were one of the best used cars to sell, funny how cars with not great initial reviews are often the best to sell used as they were so trouble free. I rebuilt the engine in my girlfriends 1976 Acadian around 1984 just to see how it was made!! I added a small block starter while I was in there.

Now it takes me about a year to change a small block in a Parisienne and that's with help!! Thanks to JC2+2

Thanks
Randy

I remember reading a write up on the Omni GLHS, Carroll Shelby said the GLHS stood for " Goes Like Hell Somemore"

Of the few Omni owners (Ontario) I knew, the complaint was mechanically they were good, but that they rusted out far quicker than most cars.

He slalom races it and says he gets over 400hp out of it. Trick everything.

Happy Anniversary Randy! I can relate to holding onto and taking care of a car you like..

Back when those Omni's were new, Road & Track raved about them. They were pocket rockets that got it done in simple fashion.

Let's see if this works. A link to a wmv file of a turbo's K-car vs a Turbo Supra. People are laughing when the front drive Aries coupe line up beside a Turbo Supra. Check out the e.t. & traps for the Aries!

Appreciate the kind words Cam!!

That's my pal Gary Donovan's Aries in the video.

If this link works its James Reeves Omni, funny comment at the end.

Thanks
Randy
