Very nice. That color looks great on 65 Chevs. I wanted to build a clone to this car a few years ago, but the guy who has the engine backed out of selling it so I forgot about the car.
Its a beauty all right although I doubt there were any female VIP's in GM at the time. I would say anyone who wanted all those power options probably didn't feel like shifting all the time either, heh heh.

They might have spilt their martini or spread ashes from the cigar if they had to shift.

One hand on the wheel, and one hand on the secretary.

Somehow I think we've seen and discussed this car here before. The thing that makes me think that is we talked about the power locks and power vents, both are options not available on 1965 Impala, they've been added.

Maybe the car still has its original documents like a proteco plate, showing a GM executive took ownership or had it built. Being that the car was a executive car, I'm quite sure he could demand vacuum door locks from the 65 Cadillac.Being the 65 was new body style, perhaps vacuum door locks and power vent windows were to be a option on impalas and caprice but at last minute decision not to offer them and executive who ordered car had his order form in before decison to drop the two options, the two options are already made most likely waiting for installation on production cars. Executive could have told assembly manger make sure you put in the two options on order number xyz, the car will be mine. it also wouldnt surprise me if executive walked along assembly line as its being built

Any 65 is pretty sweet there Tim.
I'm kinda fond of that color. Looks good on 65's.
There were always a few in that color at the Impala Nationals in Spearfish SD when I used to go back in the 90's
My favourite evening orchid car was an original owner HT, black interior, no vinyl top, 327 4 speed, simple Beautiful car.
I'm not one for optionitis, so most of the others in this color were usully optioned right out like this one, not my cup of tea, but I appreciate them none the less.
Ah, the good old days when one could pull a few strings and get the car (and colour) they wanted. The last time I saw anything similar to this was back in 2000 when Chevy offered the Corvette in Millennium Yellow. I worked at Andersons GM in Woodstock at the time. A guy with snakeskin boots ordered one in that colour with bright red interior. GM refused to build it. Apparently 10 or so other orders came in for the same colour combo and GM agreed to build them all at once, one time only. I wonder if this car survives?
