68 Convertible Boot

Looking for 68 Beaumont convertible boot plastic clips. My boot is like new but the clips are broken on the corners. Would appreciate any feedback on this.

Thanks Carl. I did contact them and they would only offer me a new boot. I wonder they could be made up somehow?

Do you have clips like the mid sixties or do have a plastic strip? The clips for the older ones are available from Original Parts Group but they aren't as strong as the originals. I transferred most of my old ones on to my new boot.

Hi Jerel. They are a moulded plastic strip. The clips or tabs are about 6 inches long and at the base where they are sewn in to the boot are a continuous strip. If I could make something up I could just cut out the bad ones and insert the new ones and resew it. Hope that make sense Jerel. Appreciate your help.

Sounds good but need black to match. I could remove the tabs but it seems ashame to ruin an original boot. I live near London Ontario. Are you within driving distance?

the clips were discontinued in 1969 and they went to a slider under the well chrome molding surround. We have a supplier who has reproduced the 67-69 Camaro clips that are superior to the earlier clips. Not sure at this time if the 'A' bodies used the same clips. Just sold the last set on Saturday; have more coming in if you wish to compare

Hi Dale. Thanks for jumping in. I am not sure what the clips are like. I have the slider under the chrome rail type. Maybe I will come around to visit you some day. Are you still near Delaware?

Hi 694279. If you are available we will slip down to see the boot. Is Saturday OK? I will need directions to meet you.

Thanks

Still looking for a used boot that slides under the well chrome molding surround on 68 Beaumont custom. The condition of the boot is not an issue as long as the plastic slider corners are OK. Any other model will do also if the slider strip is the same. Look forward to any responses.

Boy, that has been a challenge for you Roy. There are things like that you would think would be easy to find. Continued good luck.

Thanks for your sympathy Jerel. I am still hopeful that something will pop up. I thought maybe majic carpet vinyl would do the trick but its a a bit too thick. My upholsterer and CARS in Tillsonburg are looking as well. If I find something I will post it for others.
