If you have committed to buying items from me in the past couple of days, please be patient. I had hoped to get quotes today for shipping them out to you but 2 deaths overnight involving family of staff at my place of work have turned my work day upside down. Home now, for all of you who are waiting, I'll get to this a bit later tonight.

One of the two deaths was my boss's dad, John. He has been out of the business now for about 7 years. He started it in 1956 and his son Mark (same age as me) has been involved in the business since high school and has been the general manager for likely 20 years now. It was Mark and John who hired me almost 30 years ago. That makes it a bit tough to have to say goodbye to someone I have known for so long, who I worked for 1/2 my life. I have not known many men in my life who are so generous but he NEVER gave hoping someone would notice. It was always on the sly, I only know because I just happened to see things in the course of my work day.

However, when a man who faithfully served God for most of his life gets to the age that he barely recognizes his own wife, it's a blessing to see him go to an eternal reward which I know he earned. No more suffering, no more pain.

Thanks Dale. The funeral for my boss's dad was this afternoon. Sad to say goodbye but an 85 year old man with about a dozen grandchildren who ALL have tremendous memories of a man who they described as their pillar, their rock. I can only hope my family has than kind of respect for me.

It reinforces how important it is to make good decisions EVERY day of our life.
