This is getting to be a broken record, it seems, as I've started a similar topic twice before.
My youngest daughters Mazda 3 just died (375000 kms) and I'm looking for a similar replacement. Anybody out there selling, or know of, a reliable little car for a reasonable price ?
Some have come up for sale on this site, but the timing was never right.
Nicely kept one owner car for sale in Milton. Nice condition given it's age. Remote car starter included. Regular maintenance done. Synthetic Oil and filters used. Automatic transmision. Air conditioning. Cruise control.
I'd sure vouch for one of these little 2.2 Cavaliers. My youngest daughter just went last week from B.C. to Montreal with hers a 98 and they are great. Little under 40 miles to the gallon and a comphy ride on the road. I had never been out on the highway with it before and the ride to Alberta was much better than anticipated. Almost as nice as the pickup. Lots of parts available in pick n pull. That one may be due for a fuel pump which are a little pricey. Gets a 10 from me.

car lot guy said the old Cavaliers are better cars then the newer Cobolts
V6 High output, Automatic overdrive transmission, Fully loaded with all power options. This car is a true survivor special interest vehicle from the southern states ! The GTP was a limited edition car and most of them are now either rusted out or long gone to the crusher. Always winter stored and well maintained. Runs and looks great. No warning lights or issues. No rust. Clean registration with no accidents. Michelin tires. Inspected and ready to go. This car is rare enough and in great shape to enter car shows on a budget !

My pal here in Peterboro' just parked a Mazda-3 last week, what's wrong w/ yours & what year?
His is an 03? sedan stick w/ 150'ish kms, I think still working Ok and just freshening up his fleet.
PM if any interest otherwise the best deals for kid cars these days are still Honda Civics.
Good luck!

My daughters Mazda 3 was driven to the wreckers because I didn't want to pour anymore money intoa car with 375000 kms and rusty rear quarters. The 2005 and 2006 Mazdas were bad for rusting out. Something to do with the sheetmetal supply in those 2 years.
Other than that, it's been a decent car.
Let me know what your friend is thinking about for his car.
Here sounds like a decent one / Sons inherited car: http://ontariorodders.activeboard.com/t60077005/sons-inherited-car/
It is a 2005 Ford Focus 4 door, automatic: - red in color - never been smoked in - 129,649 Km - Power Windows, Power Locks, Power Trunk - has been undercoated every year
I don't know what they are worth but he said he would like $4000 for it. He will send me a list of the options and mileage and how he wants to sell it, safety or as is.
I dont know how much you are looking to spend? I'm selling my 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix Gt2 Aero pkg. Its loaded, loaded for a GP. Heated Leather, sunroof,Satelitte radio, 17" alloys factory remote start, spoiler kit, etc. I'm asking $6900 with Safety & E test so it may be more than you want to spend.

Ah the west coast. I bought a rebuilt [rear end write off] 93 Tercel 4 dr for $150 bucks 7 years ago. Had 132000 km on it . Now has 182000. Still no rust. Only issue is valve seals. Not worth the repair cost. Cassette deck still works! No it's not for sale.

For 3k she could pick up a nice VW, diesel even. If you do look at one, just make sure if it is at 175km or over mark that it has a new timing belt and water pump. Then you are good to go.
