You be careful of buynig one from around Hensall, Lucan,Seaforth and area!! Make sure it has a factory vin tag as a lot of them are homemade rebuilts from Zamboni back in the 80's. JUst ask 427 Carl for the scoop.
Thanks for the tip Earl. Darryl, I don't really care what cab style I get. I may consider later years as well. I like the simplicity of the early body style (and abundance of parts). Didn't this style also have bolt on box sides?

Indeed however it has to be a pickup. It's going to be used for all kinds of glamorous work like hauling all the horse manure I want for our gardens from a nearby farm, hauling firewood and hopefully someday a car trailer!
You know Todd it's probably cheaper to get a 2001 or so Silverado 4x4 these days. You get extenda cab, Vortec or LS power & fuel mileage with much improved 4x4 systems.
Just sayin, thats all. My romance with the 73-87's ended when I was thru rebuilding a 79 4x4 S/B Silverado. Sold it and bought a 91 Z71 S/B step side and never looked back. Kept it for 5-6 years. Only reason I sold it was to buy a Cummins Diesel Dodge.
