I am looking for some feedback from members. My Dad has a 1951 Canadian model, Silver Annoversary fully optioned - it is a two door Torpedo Back. 52 was the last year they made this modely. We go to a lot of car shows and have NEVER seen another like this one. We have seen several American bodies with the eight and they are not as nice in my opinion. Our car is near museum quality and is driven every Saturday night. Two years ago we installed power steering and a high compression head, two barrel intake manifold and a NOS two barrel carb. The extra horse power was a big improvement! Last year we installed new raidal tires with an 1.5 inch whitewall and the car is far more drivable!
Anyways, the old man is 87 and we may consider selling but we are not sure of the car's value. It is probably the nicest survivor of this model and year available in Canada. It does not require any work and could easily be driven across Canada. I seldom visit this site so email me your comments to: classicsincanada@shaw.ca
I have been studying the market on the 1949-1953 chevy and pontiacs for many years. I think the car has a value of 16k in today's market. Of course that is my opinion others will chime in.
The best chance of selling it for much higher is to take it to an auction.
